A return to The Admiral’s House.

The Braes, Isle of Skye, Scotland

In August of 2026, Olivia had the opportunity to return to a place she fell deeply in love with the year before.

This year, the inherent focus was reconnection and restoration.

Returning to a place after a period of time allows one to feel and see the only constant: change. The new oil stain near the wood stove. The scratches from a dog’s claws on a door frame, perhaps from being kept in too long. The fallen branches from a tree blow over during one of the many storms to lash that unbelievable island.

Taking time to iterate on the primary work from the previous year was incredibly enriching. Many of the chimes had fallen off in the harsh winds off the ocean, and using new materials to secure the chimes while reapplying new wool to the branch provided the comfort that the work will continue to endure.
